We believe where a girl begins should never determine where she can go. By providing laptops, educational resources, and encouragement, we help remove barriers that stand between deserving young women and their dreams of higher education.
Inspired by the founder's own journey from public housing in Durham, North Carolina, our mission is to invest in young women today so they can become tomorrow's leaders.
Why Project Girl?
Growing up in public housing in Durham, North Carolina, I was often known as "that project girl." What was once intended to define my circumstances eventually became the inspiration for my purpose.
The Project Girl Foundation was created to remind every girl that where she begins should never determine where she can go. We believe every young woman deserves the opportunity to dream boldly, pursue higher education, and build the future she imagines, regardless of her circumstances.
Inspired by my own journey, our foundation provides laptops, educational resources, and encouragement to help remove barriers that stand between deserving young women and their goals. Every laptop we provide, every scholarship we award, and every opportunity we create is an investment in a future leader.
Today, the words "Project Girl" no longer represent where I came from, they represent hope, opportunity, resilience, and the belief that every girl deserves the chance to write her own success story.
